Summer Evening.Church at Meridian Park - Aug 6
Mission Trip Cook-out Celebration!
Everyone's welcome to join in with Summer Evening.Church on Sunday, Aug 6at 5:00pm at Meridian Neighborhood Park (map). Enjoy your summer weekend activities, and then come be shaped and formed in Jesus' ways of hope, love, peace and justice, whatever your age or place in life. PLUS we're celebrating the freshly returned Youth Mission Team with stories, songs, prayer and a fabulous potluck cook-out. Bring a side-dish to share if you'd like. SOC Week is a special opportunity for middle-school & high-school aged youth to learn and experience God's love and faith through service to the community. Share a "Wave of Love" - Donations Needed!
We're continuing to share a "Wave of Love" with kids in our community who need some help, love and hope. We're supporting the "Birthday Bag" Program of the Thurston County Food Bank, which provides items to help kid clients of the Food Bank celebrate their birthday - think small toys, school supplies, and materials to make a birthday cake! Check out the list below, and bring your donations to any Evergreen gathering through the end of August. This awesome project was started by our Surf Shack Kids' Camp participants! Questions? - Small stuffed animals
- Birthday candles & bags of balloons
- Toys from the Dollar store (think jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, frisbees, chess sets, puzzles, coloring books, etc.)
- Crayola crayons - Colored pencils -Spiral notebooks
- Scissors (kid sized) - School glue (bottles)
- Cake mix, frosting tubs, and sprinkles
A Wednesday Evening Walk - Meets next on August 9
Everyone's welcome to come enjoy conversation, community movement and God's beautiful creation! We'll meet at Meridian Neighborhood Park (map) at 7:00pm and set out from there - where your walking shoes and bring a water bottle if you'd like. Evergreen Youth Group
The Evergreen Youth Group for High Schoolers meets on Sundays as a part of Evening.Church AND at other times for adventures, share-projects, retreats, etc. They are currently planning a Parents Night Out Fundraiser, a mission trip to Idaho, and other adventures throughout the Summer, including Serve Our Community Week. Get Real Coffee & Conversation Meets Most Fridays
Everyone's welcome to get real with Pastor Meredith most Friday mornings at Panera Bread in Hawks Prairie (map); the next gathering is Friday, August 11 from 9:30-11:00am. Come for all or some of the time as we take on all - and we mean ALL - questions of life and faith, family, work, love, kids, and whatever else is on our minds. Share a Donation of Food For Kids Backpack Food Program
Evergreen UMC is proud to support the work of the Thurston County Food Bank's "For Kids" Backpack Food program. Each week of the school year, the Food Bank distributes 2,000 bags of easy to prepare foods to kids in need to take home over the weekend. Bring items to any Evergreen gathering, or contact Pastor Meredith for a drop-off or pick-up....and thank you, thank you, thank you!
